Adult Unit
The Adult Unit at Saline Memorial Hospital is a secure, 19-bed, licensed unit that provides acute inpatient hospitalization in a safe, therapeutic environment for patients who cannot be treated safely on an outpatient basis. Treatment in this program is provided by a team of licensed professionals experienced in the assessment and treatment of adults with psychiatric illnesses. This team provides specialized services under the direction of the attending psychiatrist.
Common reasons for admission to the Adult Inpatient Unit include:
- Suicidal thoughts or attempts
- Excessive aggression or agitation
- Depression
- Anxiety and panic disorders
- Poor impulse control
- Delusions/hallucinations
- Agitation and restlessness
- Sleeping or eating disturbances
- Self-neglect/Self-harm
- Behaviors that impede daily living
- Obsessive-compulsive symptoms
