Saline Health System names new chief nursing officer
BENTON, Ark. (March 15, 2023) – Saline Memorial Hospital announced recently that Char Boulch has been named as the hospital’s chief nursing officer.
Boulch started out her career in health care when she was 19 working as a patient access clerk. She discovered how much she loved helping people and decided to follow in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother, who were both nurses.
She attended nursing school and went to work in the emergency department at North Broward Medical Center in Florida. Over the next 20 years, she progressed in her career from assistant nurse manager to department director to assistant chief nursing officer. Her most recent position was chief nursing officer at Willamette Valley Medical Center in Oregon.
“We are excited to welcome Char to the Saline Health System family,” CEO Michael Stewart said. “She has a strong background in nurse recruitment, training and engagement, and she has also demonstrated a deep commitment to improving patient satisfaction and safe, high-quality care.’”
In addition to being a registered nurse, Boulch earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from South University and a master's degree in nurse leadership from Walden University. She is currently working on earning her doctorate degree in nursing practice.
“I am committed to doing my best and doing what is right,” Boulch said. “As you get to know me, you will see that I look for the positive in most situations. Being positive in difficult situations is not a sign of weakness, but an asset.”
Boulch’s philosophy of care is based on the idea, “Find your yes.”
“So many times, we limit ourselves by immediately thinking, ‘we can’t,’ or ‘no, it can’t be done,’” Boulch said. “Finding your yes is about changing that mentality so that we are thinking of how we can make something happen. We shouldn’t put limits on the possible. The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. summed it up well when he said, ‘If you cannot do great things, do small things great.’”
