Katie Lea Earns Patient Safety Credential

February 22, 2020

The Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety (CBPPS) recently recognized Katie Lea, MSN, MHA, NE-BC, Chief Nursing Officer at Saline Health System, as a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS).

“At Saline Health System we are committed to patient safety,” said Michael Stewart, CEO Saline Health System. “Katie receiving this new certification is another example of her commitment to and leadership in patient safety.”

Lea earned this credential in part by passing a rigorous, evidence-based examination that tests candidates on their competency in patient safety science and application.

“We work with our nurses and entire staff every day to ensure we are providing the highest level of care at our hospital,” Lea said. “That’s why I was happy to have the opportunity to earn this credential.”

With the conferring of certification Lea is privileged to use the CPPS credential.
